How noisy is a wine cooler?
Most wine cooler cabinets generate a noise level around 35-45 decibels (dB). In comparison, a dishwasher in use is around 45-50 dB and a standard modern fridge about 35 dB.
Generally speaking, wine coolers produces slightly more noise than regular refrigerators. This is because of their greater need to maintain a constant temperature. The vast majority of wine coolers on the market consist of a compressor, a refrigerant circuit and a system of fans.
Acoustic considerations If you're building a new house it's a good idea to consider the acoustics and sound right from the start of your planning. There is a wealth of sound dampening materials available on the market that won't break your budget. Your contractor or local building supplier will be able to guide you through these.
For the rest of us, there are also a number of handy tricks and tips. A handclap test is a quick way to ascertain the acoustic "behaviour" of a space. Clap loudly in a room and listen for how much reverberation there is in the echo. It doesn't take more than a second before it will be perceived as bothersome.
Lastly, there's also valuable advice about how to design your interior to accommodate your wine cabinet cooler. Some of the advice takes the form of general observations while other advice applies to more specific situations.
Sources that enhance acoustics:
- Carpets, thick curtains and other thick fabrics absorb sound.
- Furniture, paintings and decorative items can dampen reverberations.
- Use sound-absorbing materials when building, especially in high rooms.
What is the best way I can reduce the noise of my wine cooler?
- Make sure the wine cooler is perfectly level
- Place it on a vibration and noise-absorbing material.
- Make sure air can circulate around the cooler cabinet.

The new Pevino NG two-zone models have two completely separate cooling systems, giving you full control over the temperature in both zones. Choose which zone you want to use for whites and which zone you want to use for reds or set both zones to the same temperature. It’s all up to you.

Your bottles are placed on four fully retractable (80%) beech wood shelves, illuminated by a beautiful LED light (white, blue or orange). The shelves on this particular model are available with beech wood, black aluminium or stainless-steel trim. Choose your favorite on this page. The shelf trimmings and door handle are also sold separately, should you want to change the look of your wine cooler at some point.
This wine cooler is both visually impressive and very practical. The slightly smaller door, recessed base and 57cm depth means it is suitable for built-in in the kitchen. The wine cooler features the best performing compressor and ventilators making it one of the most reliable and silent (35dB) in its class.
The built-in alarm keeps an eye on the interior temperature level and will let you know if the door isn’t closed properly. The wine cooler is classified as an energy class A product.
